The Best Options to Remove Unwanted Body Hair

28 Feb

There are many women and men who are insecure about unwanted hair. No one should be embarrassed to be close with someone because they are afraid that the other person might notice their stray hairs. At the same time, no one should have to toil with heavy makeup that can potentially clog the pores of someone’s skin and cause blemishes. Makeup is no solution. Any heavy makeup product will cause skin problems, look unnatural, and the hair will still be noticeable anyway. Luckily, there are several solutions to the problem for varying budgets.

The least expensive option is to use a hair removal cream or foam. These work by killing the root of the hair, causing it to fall out. These are available at most drug stores at a low ticket price. There are, of course, some drawbacks to this method. If you have sensitive skin, you might develop red bumps on the area the cream or foam was applied, or even a mild rash. This should fade or completely disappear within 24 hours. If it doesn’t, you should contact a dermatologist because you might have had an allergic reaction. The hair will grow back in 1-3 weeks depending on your personal hair growth rate, and you will have to reapply the treatment.

Another option is waxing the hair. You can either buy a home kit at a pharmacy or go into a salon to have it done professionally. To remove the hair, you need to heat up the wax, apply it to the area of your body with unwanted hair, place a cloth strip on the wax, and pull the strip off in the opposite direction of the hair growth. Because this method feels slightly more painful than ripping a bandage off, you might want to consider taking care of it at a salon. A professional has a more practiced hand in this technique. With this method, you might also deal with bumps, and of course you will have to deal with hair regrowth.

Laser hair removal is the most expensive option, but it may be the cheapest in the long term. For this method, you would need to make an appointment with an office that performs this procedure. It should be observed if not performed by a doctor. Removing hair by laser works by killing the entire hair follicle so that it won’t grow back. It can also be painful and cause redness and bumps at first, but you will never deal with that unwanted hair again.
